Not many people can pull of the jean-on-jean look, but I sure did! Wore them with my brown cowboy boots, and this green textured scarf. Just to compliment the jean a little.

My school had a 80s/90s party and this is what I wore. I was going for Pretty Woman mixed with a little In Living Color Fly Girls (the dancers). I wore my converses, and had my plaid shirt was tied around my hips.

This is what I wore today. I love this beautiful green blazer. It is no other shade but a bold green. And I used the color blocking technique and added the blue scarf . The two bold colors with the striped floor length dress was the greates idea. And since it was cold I wore my brown cowboy boots. I thnk a floor lenght dress with boots is totally different and gives any outfit a more country type of feel.

Oh yeah! I picked up this purple Wet N' Wild lipstick today and it looks sooooo sexy on me! I love it!

I'm Ready

I need to start all over. No this is not a "new blog" scare. I need to start from the beginning of me! Somewhere along the path of my 19 years and 3 months of life I went totally wrong. Until now, I thought I had it all under control but the end of 2011 brought me great grief and dissatisfaction. Not in only one, but in ALL aspects of my life, so I blame these issues on me. This is quite personal and I wont really get into specific examples, but I need somewhere to write this down, date, and archive it.

I do not know where to begin because it is all so confusing. From the fact that I cannot write a simple "About Me" excerpt nor answer the question "Tell me about yourself" without thinking "ummmm..." and going on a wild tangent about some life I think I live. To the fact that I swear that I have a few close, strong friendships but find it hard to go to them when I have a problem dealing with myself, and not with others. Also the fact I can be a powerful force when it comes to defending, protecting, and respecting others but when it comes to myself, I stoop down to a pathetic dumbness. Small issues but all these together, plus so many more facts, combine to make me feel mentally insecure about myself. I cant speak up for myself, im indecisive (literally my mother makes all my decisions), I daydream and fantasize way more than necessary (which leaves me to dislike my reality), I talk a big game but havent even proven to myself that I can win. All this leaves me vulnerable and weak and easily used-Correction: ABUSED by everything and everyone around me. I dont want to have a pity party, nor do I need sympathy but I have come to a self realization that I have grown up wrong and I need to fix it myself.

Wow, just that part was soooo deep! Didnt think I had it in me. Although I can write it out this is not becomming any more relieving yet. 2011 was NOT a bad year, neither it was a good one. I want this year to be marked as a learning experience. Well based upon above statements, my whole life to this point can be marked as a learning experience. I really dont know what I am getting at but I guess ultimately this all boils down to what I seek to change about myself this New Year. My New Years Resolution.

It is taking me a while to really pinpoint what it is or even formulate it in a sentence. Sometime I have it, sometimes I dont, and sometimes I know it but I just cant say it in a way to make sense. I want to sum it up to a "basically" phrase but I cant.

This year, 2012, brings independancy? No more taking care of others over me. No more going out of my way to fit the needs of others. No more sought out guidance from my mother; if she wants to lend advice to me, she may, but I cant ask her for basic decision making. No more unhealthy needing for attention from anyone. No more faking I am happy about something that I am not. No more doing something I dont want to do but since I am needed in certain situations I shall follow along. No more trying to engage people with each other that do not care to be engaged. No more of getting into other peoples business and messing things up. No more hating people. No more putting myself out there until Im perfectly ready to take the reaction. No more building people up and allowing myself to be broken down. No more need for people around who dont want me around. I dont know if all of these fit under "independancy" but I am stating it so it will be known. Not to anyone else but to myself.

More doing things that make me happy. More money...spent on ME. More great grades. More smart decisions and being aware that I do know how to make them on my own. More going forward in my education to complete my goals in life. More taking care of me (health wise). More finding my own financial stability. More self gratification because I do not need it from anyone else. More keeping what i know to myself. More minding my own business. More truths to give ONLY when asked. More confidence in me and not just my looks. More focus and love for family. More learning who I really am.

I dont plan on all of a sudden having a "I dont give a fuck" attitude because that will only just be another front. I want to find happiness in me and find what I like that really makes me, me. I still love the people that came into my life since the day I was born because every one, every time, every situation has brought me to this point; my lowest point. It is time for me to build myself back up, because I am the only one that can.

There is so much more that goes into my resolution. I still think of my resolution with a question mark because I dont know if this is all. Their is so much more that goes into my change. 2011 brought me face to face with my fears and I didnt have much of a fight. 2012 will be very different.

I feel bad for not wishing my readers a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy Kwanzaa. My laptop has been broken for months now(since the last week of November) and i just got it fixed. So its now time to update you...

I HAVE A CAR NOW! I am now very mobile and have been on-the-go since i got it on Christmas day. I love her, yes, and I named HER Baby. She is a used 2004 Nissan Sentra and is a champagne-y gold color. Opposite of what I asked for, but everything I ever dreamed of! She does the job so I love her!

I won a giveaway! It was from the Fall collection of GrinEyes from Tiffany Ava. I won a gift basket a long with a pair of the shades of my choosing. I loved this pair because I needed a more chill pair of sunglasses that were dark but bold. I love the leather braid going across the top of the aviator look, and the thin frame! It fits me well. Got some other cool things in the basket, like nail polish, lotions, gloves, candy.

Im Healthy!!! Weird, right? I didnt know how to put it. I workout regularly now, but its not for a weight goal, or diet purpose. It is just to be healthy! Instead of choosing to eat all break long and gain an unneeded 10 pounds I decided to just add excersice to my daily routine (and lost 10lbs in the process). I got on a Runners Workout Plan that I found on Womens Health Magazine website, just to ease myself into becomming a regular runner. Now I workout hard everyday, at least once a day.
And I am keeping protein at a minimum because I want to lose muscle. Also weird?!! But yeah I am very fit but a little to bulky for my liking, especially my legs, so i am lowering my protein intake in hopes to shed more muscle. If I am doing it wrong, please let me know!

Black Friday: What I Got

So much for bold colors and prints! I went shopping today in light of Black Friday and like usual, I didnt get much! I did get some needed pieces but nothing to spectacular.

First stop was too Inspirations which is a little thrift shop in Union. I havent been here for a little bit and since the last time the prices definitely got higher. It seemed like a regular store rather than thrift. Here are the few things I got.

Have a blazerr! I already have one but it has a different fit than this one! This is a basic Anne Klein Suit jacket that was $15.49. To much for a thrift store but the quality of the jacket would make it the perfect price anywhere else.

This is an oversized navy blue sweater vest from J.Jill. The original price tag was $59 and I guess the original owner never wore it or took the tags off. The thrift shop tag was $11.99 and it was 15%! I threw away the receipt and I hate math so you guys can figure that out.

I have always wanted a plaid mens shirt. Not the pretty ones that you can buy at Forever 21 but like a really big mens shirt. So I got one! Fit perfect and I love the colors. It was $4.99 but I got it 15% off so it was one of the lesser priced items I got today.

This is my bold color. I dont have a blue like this in my closet (I actually dont think I have any blues) so this is perfect! It felt so nice and fit beautifully. The brand is Talbots Collection and I got 15% off the thrift store price of $14.49.

Stopped at Sephora for some MAKEUPS! I just got two things. Didnt need much.

I love the color gold and I dont have it as a nail polish color. This if from OPI and is like crackle but is called "blasted". Anyway I love it and I cant wait to use it. It is called Blasted Opalescent Gold and was $9.50.

I been in need of a perfect eyeliner and hopefully this will do the job. It is Sephoras long lasting eyeliner in Black Midnight and it was $10.00. A lot more expensive than my dollar eyeliners from drugstores but hopefully the pen tip will do a lot better than what I have.

Black Friday: What I Want!

Tomorrow is Black Friday and I plan on definitely going shopping for some things that I need. I am not one to wake up extra early or to waiting at a store door all night to get in first. i'll probably go midday to some thrift store and still get some good deals. I will be doing a follow up post with the things I got. I went to a few websites and found pictures of things that I am especially looking out for.

Here are the items in a the order of what I need the most:

Winter is coming so I need some layered pieces to keep me warm. Cardigans and oversized sweaters will do the job. Printed and bold colored pieces would be great for my basic wardrobe.

Bold party dresses, whether bright in color or printed are very necessary. A few big parties are coming up and I need new dresses. It is the holiday season and once break comes I will be clubbing.

I need jeans! My jeans are becomming worn out and I need a whole new batch. Skinny, flared, bootcut, whatever it is I need it. The problem is I am tall and it is hard to find jeans that will reach to my ankles, and passed. Delias have been supplying my long jeans but I think I might switch to Levi's.

I need really tall stylish riding boots. I have tall rain boots but rain boots dont go with everything. Riding boots or any other style. I do have a tall pair of boots but they have a heel.

Bold or printed heels and flats!

You can obviously see the themes for the items I would like to purchase. I noticed my wardrobe is way to basic and one-colored. More bright patterned prints will be a great add to my wardrobe.

It has taken a while for me to post these but finally here are the pictures from my school trip to the Museum of Modern Art!

I was soo inspired and the art work was breath taking.

This is actually translated into a sentence which reads: "When we pulverize words, what is left is neither mere noise nor arbitrary, pure elements, but still other words, reflection of an invisible, and yet indelible representation: this is the myth in which we now transcribe the most obscure and real powers of language."

This picture was cool because it was actually in black and white but you read where certain colors are supposed to be. It is funny how when reading the colors I saw them in there places. A little more work but had the same effect as a colored picture would.

Now this picture for some wierd reason had a big effect on me. In the explanation it said it is better to look at big pictures up close rather than from far away, which most people do. So I did it and the picture was already sooo big but being close made me look at it in a different persepective. Felt like all the red was surrounding me!

Forever 21 Haul

So yesterday I went with friends to this NYC trip my school was having! We visited the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) which I will be posting about in a later post. I have a lot of pictures for you guys.

As my friend and I were walking through NYC Time Square I saw the new Forever 21 store! I havent been to Time Square in a while because last time I was there only the sign for the "upcoming" Forever 21 store was there. So I walked in because this store was massive! When I shop at Forever 21 I get basics, and essential items. I never really look for anything fancy unless I am thrifting.

Just dabbling

So I definitely tried something new today! I watched one of my favorite Youtubers makeup tutorial and I decided to try it (check her out at AllThingsFabulous101 )! It is the wearable version of the makeup look Beyonce has in her new "Party" music video. In the picture you can't really see the colors but I used gold, dark purple, and green! The colors were the fun part, and I got such nice reaction from everyone today. I am getting really talented with this makeup stuff.

I usually do straight hairstyles and after watching one of my friends do her own hair (curling), I wondered -Why haven't I actually styled my hair-! I do have talents so it shouldnt be to hard, actually it was very easy! I didnt do a full head of curls but something light!

Goodwill Hunting

So I am back from vacation and I had a wonderful time with my family! We were in Atlantic City, New Jersey for a week and then that weekend we visited some family in Pennsylvania. Not only did I get this beautiful tan, and some neccessary time with family; I also did some SHOPPING!

Not so much in Atlantic City but in Pennsylvania I went overboard. All I was expecting to do was go to the local Ross and get some flats, sandals, and a couple of pairs of pants; but as you can see below I did the total opposite!

We went to the local Goodwill instead (and one other thrift store which the name escapes me) and bought a ton of stuff. I do not understand why thrift stores, and secondhand shops are looked down upon because they hold the best stuff for the lowest prices! Everything I got below did not go over $40. Now is that a deal, or what?

Jean Jacket- From Gap, and has a beautiful fit. This jean jacket is going to be a closet staple for me so I can turn many of my extravagant looks to casual! Plus Fall is near and I need to stay warm without the bulkiness of a coat.

Leopard Print top- So I have been obsessed with animal prints, as of late, and when I saw this I had to have it. I actually picked up many animal print pieces at the store but I settled on this one.

Oversized Grey Kimono Sweater- Something for fall that looked so cute, especially the kimono-ish look to it. I instantly pictured it with some dark wash jeans, and cowboy boots.

Striped Blue top- Now I have been searching everywhere for the name of this neckline. I am not sure if you guys can see it in the picture but its fascinating and really compliments my shoulders. I usually dont like horizontal stripes but I caved in because they paired perfectly with the navy blue shorts below.

Mesh tank- When I spotted the tiny bit of mesh hanging out from a rack of clothes at Goodwill, I had a feeling that I was going to love this piece so I dove in, and was exactly right! Not only can I wear this as a beach cover up but I can turn it up a bit and make it look classy enough for even class.

Racerback tank- So my mom found this item and I have to give her, her props! When I first saw her holding it I thought it was made of some faux silk fabric which would have looked gorgeous. Instead its made from regular cotton and its from Old Navy! I am not a fan of them but whoever dropped this piece off must have been bumped in the head.

Khakis- I am actually wearing this piece as I am writing this post. I tucked into it, my blue collared shirt with the buttons open to reveal a lingerie top! I thought it brought sexy back to the work place. Now if only I worked with some men?!

Navy blue shorts- Needed some high waisted shorts in my closest and this one filled that quota. They look weird hung up but on me they hit every curve (as little as they are) perfectly!

Pink skirt- When I first saw this skirt I was attracted by the hot pink color of it and the belt! Reminded me of the women of the 60's and I do think I have an old spirit. This skirt is definitely to long for my liking so I will be cutting up the hem!

Leather skirt- Now this is to DIE FOR! Even when the cashier ringed up the item she said I made a "good find"! See I have an eye for these things. Well I can't wait to wear it around but not now cause its way to hot for leather.

Green purse- I dont know why I like this bag so much because when I stare at it for to long it almost looks childish! I just love the bright green color of it and it seems to give my closet a pick me up from all the dull shades.

Printed purse- So when my mother and aunt saw me buy this they asked me why do I like it! There is something about the stripes colors and the shape that I adore. Wish it came with a handle or something but as a clutch, it will do.

Navy blue wristlet- Very cute and small and I thought "Hey, I dont have one. Might as well get it while I can" Will definitely be sporting this to a few parties but it's kind of upsetting that my iphone (and surrounding case) fills the whole thing!

Belt- Love the enormous buckles on it and it seemed to suit every outfit I thought about. Sadly it doesnt even fit. One of those last minute pieces that you are so quick to purchase and you dont even check for fit.

Watch & Bracelet- I am not so good at telling time from the face of a clock but the watch doesnt work anyway so its just for looks! The rich blue of the bracelet seemed to compliment the watch and even stand on its own very well. It just may be my new fave bracelet.

Shell Earrings- Quite heavy but they look great on me. Had to have them when I saw them.

Diamond-shaped Earrings- Now these are jawdropping-ly beautiful! The colors and shape and texture! UGH i dont have the words to describe how much I love these.

Gold studs- These look formal yet so casual! Who knows I might where them both ways!

I AM BACK!! Sorry for being gone so long. I was on vacation with the family for the whole week. Definitely something I needed and had a great time. I am back now with a lot of new goodies to show you guys since i did some shopping at the local thrift shops, and Goodwill in PA!

The picture above is actually not me but my younger sis at the beach when we were in Atlantic City, New Jersey! We all had a great time, and great tans! Welp, back tomorrow with a new post!

they finally came in

So MAKEMECHIC.COM has finally delivered my heels! My shoe collection was looking sort of frail and I had to splurge. I wanted to by some heels that were more close to casual but very classy and these happened to be the 5 best ones I found! All together under $100, now am I winning or what?

I have never been a sneaker person and when I do wear them I am either going to the gym or in a game of volleyball. They just make my feet feel so hot, tight, and uncomfortable. So unlike most people my age I am not a sneaker head. Heels are my guilty pleasure, because i am a tall girl who doesnt mind being inches taller! So I intend on feeding my addiction with more heels for my collection.

Now these will be my go-to heels for when I am running out of the house and need something cute to put on my feet. They are uber-casual and I dont have a heels like this in my closet. So they were more of a necessity and are going to be a closet staple, definitely!

Brand: RedKiss ; Cork Satin Stripe Platform Pump

A unique pair of heels that was jaw dropping when I first laid my eyes on them! I am speechless because I do not know what to say about them other than I LOVE THEM! What I do hate is that they are kind of tight for my size but I plan on breaking them in because I cant let these go.

Brand: Liliana ; Snake T-Strap Platform Heels

To be honest I am not in love with the front; It looks odd, but that slight wierdness is compensated by the T-strap. I am not really into thin heels like this because I do have really bad balance but I still just loved the look and I might as well start learning to love the heel!

Brand: Bamboo ; Caged Wooden Platform Wedges

One of my favorites (well they are all my favorites)! I have this undying addiction for wedges and when these caught my eye; I was in love! They are so different then the average wedge. The way the nude patent leather lays over the wooden wedge makes it look a lot more sleek and less casual then the average wedge!

Brand: Jomax ; Cut Out Platform Banana Heels

So I have been looking for a very sophisticated pair of shoes for a while now and these are it. It's more or less the type of heel it is. Never heard of a banana heel before I saw these and you can kind of see why they have the name! Well they look very sexy on my feet so they have my heart!

Youtube Addiction; Favorite Youtubers

In this new age where the internet is becoming the epitome of life itself, I find myself easily entertained with websites like Google, Twitter, and Facebook! They have become great time killers when I have nothing else to do and I always happen to be on them (so i guess i always have nothing to do *shrugs*). Well, thats besides the point!

I am in love with YOUTUBE!! Well not in love with the whole website because that is very general but I have found Youtubers to be in love with! Not that I am stalking them at all but everytime they post a video I do HAVE to watch it! I decided to dedicate this post to my favorite Youtubers in an effort to get them some more fans (aka suscribers)

Well where do we start...A HA! You probably already seen her on my blog recently and I had to post again because I am really infatuated with her! When I first stumbled upon her videos I only watched her cause she was a Nigerian! Yes, that is BritPopPrincess! Well, then I was disinterested in her videos and just unsuscribed from her, until almost a year ago when I found her again. Her videos were definitely different; camera quality is better, there is more substance in what she talks about, and it was around the time when I found British accents slightly orgasmic! Other than the More Is More video, here is another video by BritPopPrincess that I love, amongst others.

Also this MAJOR HAUL VIDEO by BritPopPrincess is one that has me taking notes!

When I say gorgeous, I mean absolutely, beautiful! Not only is her fashion sense on point but I love her facial features. From her eyes to her lips, this girl is just sexy in a very innocent, virgin way! I started watching Shirley Beniang of Meek-N-Mild.com for her makeup tutorials because her skin colored favored mine! So whatever looked good on her (color wise) I knew would probably look good on me also. Then as she grew as a Youtube-ist (which i am sure is a word) I started to notice her amazing style and how unique her videos were! I was an instant fan and videos like the one below keeps me on my toes and a fan for life!

This Glowing makeup tutorial is what I live for, and why I remain a fan!

So there are 3 specific reasons why i love this girl! Shallow as some may be I really cant stop watching her videos. First (and shallowest of them all), I am pretty sure she knows Chris Brown. I know this because one day when I was on my Twitter-stalking-celebrity moods I noticed her tweeting to her twin sis (which she has told us she had through her videos). Then I saw Chris Brown tweet something to her twin sister to. Something like "I love @whateverhernameis"! So of course i stalked more and saw that they follow each other, so yeah thats cool! Second, I admire her voice and the way she talks. Yeah, its weird but she kind of has this nasaly, raspy thing going and mixed with her constant sarcasm makes it so fun to watch. Third, she is sooooo real! Like she really keeps it 100% with her suscribers and I love her for that! Her whole being that she portrays in her videos is a breath of fresh air cause I really dont think she is fake like others youtubers are. Now she is a newbie to my suscribtion list. I only started following her a few months ago, whereas everyone else was more than a year ago! What caught my attention was her Youtube name, BeatFaceHoney , then it was all the pretty colors that kept me watching, and finally her talent was what got me hooked! She only does makeup tutorials and she is very good at it! She is a professional makeup artist so of course she has to be good! I have tried and failed at the looks she has done but hopefully I will start to get the hang of it! Practice makes perfect but check her out below.

Last but surely not least is Michelle Phan! A youtuber I have watched grow ever since close to her first video! I love seeing talented people get discovered and she is one of them. From doing DIY tutorials from her house to becoming the spokesperson for Lancome, she has come a long way! Now I still am an adoring fan of hers and hope you check her out also!

My Social Life & OOTD

School has been over for a while now and I am on my summer break. As we all know summer is not only the time to work longer shifts at work, and relax from all the stress of school, but its also the time to enjoy the sun of the days and live for the nights. Well, times have been moving very slow for me at the moment since I have been working so much lately and hopefully soon my social life will be back together!

Purple cardigan-Forever21, black tank, black skirt-H&M, brown thin belt-H&M

I am posting about my social life because there is this big party on June 25th that is being talked about by everyone I know. To give you a little more information about me; you guys all know I am Nigerian (at least I hope you do)! I am a very proud Nigerian and like to surround myself with predominately peope of the same nationality as I! Not saying I reject everybody else, but I enjoy my time with the Nigerians in my area! This party is not only for Nigerians but all Africans and races.

Me being MUAH, I definitely got an invite to this party and was all set to go! Now, the reason I say this party is supposed to be big is because many different people have contacted me asking if I was going! This usually happens for important parties that are coming up. I know how good it may be by the people who contact me!

it is not a little black dress but a tank and top put together to look like one!

I am marking this party as the party to officially start my summer! Also, it's my first club party so I am especially excited to experience it. Maybe I am making this bigger than what it is but I am known for that so who cares! After this I am filling my weekends with activities and events to spend my time!

So I have some very exciting news! As you all know, from earlier posts, I have been interning at the Luna Stage company for quite some time now! It really hasn't been all that long but today my boss (i dont really think of her as a boss cause she is cool as hell) said that i will become her assistant from now on!! So basically on my resume I could put assistant office manager! AHHH isnt that exciting! I really do love the place and I am glad that I am moving up so fast! I am really trying to help them revamp the fan base and the social media aspect of Luna Stage!

Video Review: "Man Down" by Rihanna

Going on my daily website surfing I was on worldstarhiphop when I saw Man Down by Rihanna video posted! Immediatly i let out a screech and had to prepare myself for this video I have been waiting so long for. When i say prepare i had to get my plate of food ready and my drink to sit down and watch this video. During this preparation period I actually thought what if this video is a let down like Chris Brown's "She Aint You" and Beyonce's "Run's the World (Girls)". I have been anxiously waiting for this video and wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt!

Well yes it was very satisfying! This is what I am looking for when it comes to a video! The story being told from the song lyrics, replicated in the video! No matter how good looking these artists are i dont care to look at them dancing and prancing around half naked to get my attention. Videos with a purpose are what I am looking for.

By the title itself, and the implication of the words "Man Down" we can tell the video will have a man actually down, and it did! Video starts off in a station, central station to be specific, and Rihanna from a balcony shoots some man, and runs a way! So she already has my attention, and i watch in suspense as her trail of long red hair ends the scene.

Then we cut to the day before where a popular island girl, goes about her island lifestyle. Hanging around the local bodega, riding her bike with friends, and showing love to the local kids and elderly! Between these shots we get small doses of Rihanna getting her sexy on which is enough for the video becasue there still is a story to be told. Then late that night at a party Rihanna is shown having fun with her crowd and gets really intense with one guy! You can obviously see this guy is putting it on her extra hard and she doesnt want it. She walks away out of the house satisfied with the fun she had at the party, but is followed by the creep and is groped, and womanized by this man!

Now we know why she shot this motherfucker down! He deserved it! That scene should have been more than just touching and should have made it seem as if he raped her. At least have him walking away fixing his pants, and not just a ripped shirt.

Cut to the running scene where a clearly athletic Rihanna sprints home to get her peggy sue(gun)! All in all i loved the video. Of course I spent most of this post explaining the video but I had to because all of it was great, that i felt the need to reiterate!

Rihanna speaks out on a topic shyed away by so many, in this video. The violence against women is terrible and even worse in other countries. Even though some idiots would say she asked for it by the way she was dancing, I do remember clearly that she shook her head "no". She put up a fight and the man still had his way with her. It is scary to be a women these days because we are seen as objects to fulfill a mans pleasure rather than human beings! I have encountered situations like this at parties (not to this extent) when dancing with a guy that goes passed my limit and I say stop but they continue as if they didnt hear me yelling in there ear over the "loud music". It usually is a fight to end a dance with a guy which it shouldnt be! Why can't women embrace their sexy without being seen as objects!

A video definitely to remember for a song I didnt even start off liking! COOL POINTS FOR RIRI!!

I definitely had one of these. Even though I was stuck at my internship most of it this outfit just put me in a good mood. Nothing was able to ruin my mood. I bonded with my coworker at my internship, and one of my best friends came to visit me during my lunch break and we just sat and chatted. Definitely something that I needed. Also got a great amount of compliment for this outfit I put together! A Lovely Day, indeed!

So I know I said I was going to do a "More is More" Outfit of the Day this morning but I decided against it. BritPopPrincess looked great but I decided to go with this outfit. This is one I had in mind for some time now. I have been holding this dress in my closet for a few weeks now not knowing how to wear it and its taken a while to plan this outfit. So i decided to head off to my internship today with this instead of my More is More. Maybe another day.

I went out last night with a couple of friends to a couple of parties, and had fun! When I go to these parties although I do dance, I take it as a chance to show off my wardrobe. Before I even begin dancing I make my rounds to people I know so they could see what I am wearing and how good I look. Yes, its the conceded person in me.

Well last night I thought I looked really cute. I premiered my new top to the world. It is very light and flowy, with a similar black and grey pattern. I wore black legging, black heels, and all gold jewelry. For my make up I used a hint of blue eyeshadow to line my eyes underneath regular black eyeliner. Then gold eyeshadow on my eyelid surrounding the blue. This look was really geared towards accenting the clutch I was wearing since it was to be worn to bring that pop of color to my outfit. The clutch is blue snake skin with a gold embellishments that I picked up at this Trash to Treasure sale at my school for only 50 cents! What a BARGAIN??? I had to have it when i saw it!

I bought it and had nothing to wear it with. I didnt want to wear it with any random outfit because I feel as if this bag is way to damn pretty to waste. So before last night I wore it one time to my school fashion show. I wore it with a fur vest over a nude fitted tank, and high waisted harem pants with a big belt at the waist, and nude heels. I won the crowd competition for best dressed ladies. That night was soo fun and my night last night was also filled with laughter and surprises.

Of course they werent the greatest parties because by the time we got to the first one it was dying down but we still stuck around for a few hours, and then we went to chill at a friends place for a little bit, and then moved on to the last party where people were just standing around but i mingled a bit. Sadly, the police came at that moment and shut it down.

As long as I know I got to see people and they got to see me, my night is fine! Also I danced to so it wasnt a waste at all.

Summer interning at Luna Stage

As someone who is seeking to gain a career in Communications, i need plenty of prior experience to get a well-situated foot in the door. My blog is definitely what I can put on my resume as something to help get me started, and keep me writing, but its still not enough. This summer I was really looking to get a jumpstart in my future so I jumped at the chance to intern at the Luna Stage in my community.

Of course, anyone who knows me well knows I am not really good with working for no pay. Or just any type of reward at all. So I am also taking down this internship as community service hours since I will also be helping usher the plays they hold on weekends.

Luna Stage is a non-profit organization, and theatre company. They hold plays, acting classes, and is a venue for any other types of art events. They just built this Luna Stage in my town in September 2010 and have been going through a lot of trouble to keep it together. Now that I am interning here, I hope to lend a hand the best I could to make sure they stay up because this is definitely a great addition to our town.

Since I am very interested in fashion I go to my internship very dressed up as if it was a fashion internship. I dont know why but I always feel the need to get dressed up although everyone in the office is in t-shirt and jeans. Well, who cares, its the diva in me!

Honestly, this place might be the place to be for more intimate shows. The theatres are not like big stages and 100's of seats. Its small rooms where the rising seats are surrounding the floor in the middle. It just seems so cozy and provides every audience member the chance to see every little fine detail they might have missed if it was a bigger auditorium. My Opinion: "Run the World (Girls)" by Beyonce

What a great idea for a post!! Immediately after watching the long awaited Beyonce video I had a lot to say. Facebook and Twitter does not provide me with this space so I had to share it to my blog followers.

So I sat through the whole video, waiting for all this great stuff to happen that everyone was talking about. My followers on Twitter were expressing a newfound love for Beyonce after watching this video. Facebookers were posting this video on my news feed so many times. I had to see it just so I can get my own opinion of what a glorious video Beyonce made. I was....dissappointed!!

I expected so much from Beyonce but nowadays artists and their music video "artistery" is lacking. Obviously being a girl empowerment song (a theme already done and worn out by Keri Hilson and Rihanna) I expected to see more girl on boy action! Not sexual but more physical, other than both crowds running through each other (and NOT fighting) which is what it exactly looked like. Instead I got cameos from Beyonce rocking the latest in designer fashions, and some vivacious wild animals which were obviously put in the shot from some Animal Planet video.

The chemistry between the girls and the boys in this video was obvious; they hated each other. Well can we get a little aggressiveness from all the girls showing this except for the star, Beyonce. She needs her 100% camera time, i get it, but the video suffered because the girls were just standing there or dancing behind Beyonce. I know Beyonce was the leader of the pack but more of an aggressive chemistry between all the characters in this video would have improved it.

Oh yeah and I have to comment on the choreography since thats what I do expect to see from artists like Beyonce. Personally I think Beyonce should have done everything else BUT dance in this video! Not saying she is a bad dancer but those moves did not seem like her! We are used to the Beyonce that moves real sexy and ass shakes but this stomping hard Bey is somethng expected from Ciara. Watching Beyonce hit all those moves somewhat accordingly just made me think Ciara could have done that better! Also Bey, where are your arms supposed to go??? They seemed to be doing nothing while your legs are doing all the moving. Beyonce is not some great dancer who needs to touch upon every style of dance. She needs to stick to what she knows and leave the better dancing to Ciara!

The choreography in the video below seems more Beyonce to me with a little bit of a different edge if she was looking for it. Maybe Beyonce should have looked to choreographer Sean Bankhead for help on this one. Just a thought!

I would love to see Beyonce try again! ;)

UUGHH this wont be easy..

I know I have not been around. I have not been able to keep up with this blog! But this is Summer 2011 and I am on a road of bettering myself in all ways.

Here's whats been up:

My Look...

Yes, I now have blond in my hair and those two dots is an eyebrow piercing. I feel more myself than I ever been! I have wanted this piercing since I was in middle school and although I had doubts before and my mother has said no, we both put our heads together and decided that I should pierce my face. Actually, more like I begged until she finally gave in. She said that "I need to express myself" and that is surely what I did. I know its a lot at one time but I dont regret any of it. Only part I hate is my roots coming in but I dont think the blond will be a long time thing. Hope you all like!

My Life...

A party!! I am a college sophomore now at Penn State University, and I would have to say that my freshman year has been the craziest. School during the week. Party both Friday, and Saturday nights. Study/recovery for the week on Sundays! This was very much ever week for me! Of course I did not party all the time, I did end up with good grades which I am proud of. If you cant find a nice balance between school, and a social life then you will most likely be stressing. This year was not all that easy but it was not as stressful like others. I am so ready to be back at it again for my sophomore year.

My SUMMER...

Highly fashionable but all work! Of course like every other college student my pockets are empty. So this summer I need to reload. By working to get paid but also building my resume. Like always I will be working at the concession stand at the zoo but newly this summer I will also be interning. There is a new acting studio in my community called the Luna Stage and I intern there just to get experience for my future in Public Relations. Basically desk work but it makes me feel so official. Also i plan to be shopping a lot with the money I make but not in the regular malls. Thrift shops as usual, and i want to be making regular trips to New York to expand my style. Places like fashion district, soho, canal street just to be cultured in NYC fashion. If you guys know of any other places I should stop at please let me know.

My Body...

I want to look like this! If anything just the stomach. I also need to train for my volleyball season so i need to be all around fit again! I sort of am but I kind of lost it once I got out for the summer. Plus I want to lose a large amount of weight! That takes time so I just hope I make it

Keep checking back at my blog! I will try and keep up with this blog a lot more than I have been! There is no reason why I shouldnt this summer so dont give up on me!

Combat Wedge Boots

So the other day I went shopping with my Christmas money with a friend. We didnt go far because it wasnt a big shopping trip, so we ended up at the closest mall to our town. I had an idea that i needed to buy an outfit for a party i was going to the next night, and i needed new shoes. Well I found both! The outfit isnt so important but the shoes I got are killer and I love them.

I purchased them at Charlotte Russe. The store was having a big blowout sale because, I think, maybe, it was closing down because the store was already half empty and things were going for sale at 5 dollars. Well the shoes in this store were 20 dollars so I definitely took a look around this section. There were plenty of shoes that I wanted but everytime I sent the employee to go back and find my size, the shoe was either "final pair", or just not in my size. Once I saw these adorable Combat Wedges I was debating on whether I should get it or not. I knew I wanted flat combat boots and didnt think I should spend my money on these wedges until I took a further look around the mall for the shoes I desired. I left the store, only to come right back because the mall we went to didnt have much to offer. I asked for the size and they HAD IT!! I quickly tried them on and made the purchase for 20 dollars! I left that store a satisfied shopper!

My Natural Hair Story

This is my hair after its been wet and the curls have tightened

For about a year and a few months I have been on my natural hair journey. It started last summer when one of my friends decided not to get perms anymore. She wore her hair in braids for some time then let her hair stay short and curly. It was a nice look for her but I really didnt see any growth. In my opinion she used all the wrong products and her hair looked really dry and greyish. I was inspired and decided to go natural.

I have been getting perms and relaxers for years and when I was younger my hair was much longer. Soon enough I noticed my hair getting shorter and thinner. I didnt know that my bi-weekly relaxers were breaking my hair. I permed my hair everytime i felt a slight bit of new growth. I knew that it was not healthy but the idea that straight, movable hair was good hair was the only thing I knew.

I did some research and started to begin my journey around August last year. I started to constantly get braids done and wore wigs to hide my new growth. I washed my hair once a week and once a month I did a wash and trim. Slowly but surely my hair grew and all my permed ends were gone. I had a short fro that I didnt know how to use. I continued to get it braided for some time. Then I did even more research and watched Youtube videos of other girls with natural hair. I learned how to wash my hair and what products to use. I had this nice curly look that everyone loved.

Now I accomplished my curly fro; what happened when I wanted to straighten my hair? I tried so many times, a different routine each time, and nothing worked. I would literally spend 1 hour to 2 hours straigtening my hair only to watch it inflate back into a fro within 5 minutes. I hated that I could not switch my look and didnt want to spend the rest of my life with a curly fro.

My main goal for my natural hair is to have it grow big, thick, and long, and I know I need to learn how to straighten it if I want to be able to handle it in all types of ways. That is why, with the money I get for Christmas I will be investing in a Chi straightner. I have seen some great reviews on it but it is very expensive. With my hair I cannot use a rinky-dink 20 dollar hair straightner from Rite Aid. I need to have a top brand straightner with good products so i can make the best of my hair.

Well my hair is in braids now and soon enough I will take them out and see how long it has gotten. By Christmas hopefully I will also have my straightner to see if it works. Wish me good luck!

All I Want For Christmas is....

MONEY!! So as greedy as it sounds there comes a time where every person has grown up and realized that they need to buy their own gifts. Santa stopped buying the gifts years back and Mom is not doing the greates job with unflattering sweaters and bags that end up in the back of the closet sooner or later. So why not Mom or Santa just drop a few stack under that Christmas Tree. It is a great idea because why fake a smile with gifts that you dont want, when you can just go on a shopping spree and get anything and everything that you want. So if my mother gives me anywhere between 300-500 dollars I will be satisfied and spend a whole day out shopping.

You might think "How about you give your mom a list of what you want". Well I have tried and I have gotten what I wanted, but not the right brand or style of what I want. Thats a mistake I dont want repeating.

Here are a few things that I want to get for myself this Christmas Season:

A Chi Straightner and products- As some of you might know I have a full head of natural hair. I grew out my perm and now have strong tight curls that cant be straightened with any normal straightner. My Rite Aid brand straightner is just not cutting it anymore so I need a high brand straightner that will actually make my thick coarse hair straight. Also with the straightner will come the products that can protect my hair and help it shine and move.

Clothes and Shoes- I have not been shopping in a while and i need the retail therapy. Since I have been in college, money has been short, and I have been only spending my money on food. Now that I will be getting Christmas I need to spend a day at the mall. I need more of everything. Clothes, shoes, and accesories. The whole nine yards. And believe it or not, I dont own one pair of sneakers. So that is a necessity as of right now

Makeup- I learned of this really cool website that sells quality makeup. Its called Cherry Culture. Since I have learned how to put on makeup RIGHT i have been making use of my own tools and supplies. I advise you guys to check it out.

Those were just a few things and maybe even more when I actually do go shopping! None of these are exact but just basically what i want.

Yes blog world I am back! I really dont know what to say but I promise to write for this blog without stopping for this new year. In the words of Ciara "I've been gone for to long". When I try and think about it I really dont know why i stopped blogging. If anything it would be loss of inspiration. I do know that I have a love for fashion and art and all things against the norm but there has not been enough of that around me to keep my fire burning. I think what I really need is to go shopping.

Some retail therapy will do me some good. Not just at the mall but at some cool thrift shops, vintage stores, or flea markets. I need to see pieces that have there own originality and history rather than clothes you can pick up at your local mall. Why shop at a place where everyone shops where there is more of a chance that you will buy the same shirt as 3 other girls.

Lack of originality in my life has even become apart of me. The looks I have done or wished to do are all being done because everyone now is trying to get that "original look". Then when everyone is trying at it, of course no one in the end will actually accomplish it. Originality, is not wearing what is cool at the time or what you have seen and trying to copy that. It is taking whatever you see and making it yours. Owning it. Rocking it. And being able to stand next to another girl with the same shirt but look totally different to the point where people think its a whole new shirt.

Im really just blabbing on about this when its not even that one reason that has kept me from writing my own blog. I have had this blog for a long time. I chose not to tell other about it because I want to start from the bottom with no readers and work my way up with people who have just stumbled upon my blog and like it. I dont want to advertise my blog because I dont need my friends to read it because I want them to. Nor will I tell people to comment unless they find the post comment-worthy. Now all of a sudden tons of people have these blog and of course I did not knock them for having it, but I hated how they didnt do any real posts but just put up some really cool looking pictures. That is not what a BLOG is. Having a nice PHOTOblog is nothing like writing for an actual blog. I write for The-Average because I love to write and like to share different information with people. Of course I put pictures so it looks all the more interesting but I would not put pictures of things that i dont even understand myself and only posting them because they look cool and make my page look a little cooler.

Maybe this is just me but let me stop being a Debbie Downer and tell you guys(if i do have any readers left) whats coming up for The-Average.

So I just graduated high school and life as a grad cant get any better! So many grad parties and bbq's to attend and places to go because I cant do NOTHING all summer. Other than that one thing that is keeping me home is my ne HP Envy laptop! Most people talk about getting a MAC laptop but honestly all that money spent on the MAC is just for the logo! HP all the way!!! Though I am not in school yet there arent many ways to put my new laptop to use. Other than the WEBCAM!!! I love it and I am having way to much fun with it! What I really like about the new design is the W♦A♦L♦S League on the bottom of the back of the shirt. It definitely would make me do a double take. Also the 1992' which is obviously the year the founders were born and not the founded year is pretty eye-catching and makes it seem as if WALS is a long standing, experienced clothing line! Then the average WALS logo on the top of the back of the shirt.

Well I decided to update on whats up in my life right now. Well YES i have accepted my admission to penn state university and I am very happy to say that I am going to be PSU Class of 2014! AHHHH its soo exciting to say. Plus I am going to play volleyball which is the best so I can come into the school with instant friends since playing a sport is the best way to start friendships.

I hope I dont make the same mistakes I made when I started high school! I will be open to new ideas and people and try to find something to do in a town full of nothing to do. I am good at it cause I have been living in my town for so long and I surprised I am still alive! HAHA!

School is going by so slow right now. I havent been anymore tired and sick of a place in my life. Like I seriously HATE being in my classes. Sitting there doing nothing and coming out with Honor Roll seems easy but SOOO boring. I just want to be challenged in some way but high school is no more a challenge for me.

I NEED WARMTH! I need to pull out my skirts and shorts...and put away my sneakers, and sweaters! I am sooo ready for the spring and summer. Probably surpassing ready! i just want it now! I want to spend my nights outside and chill with friends doing stupid things cause its my last year in this town. I want to be able to walk around everywhere during the day with my sister or just my friends. Want to be able to just go to the beach any day, I want just cause its HOT enough! I want to go to barbecues and parties everynight! Im just tired of staying inside my house.

Money=Problems. Especially if you dont got none. I am in dire need of a job cause i have so many senior problems to be paid for. THE END

Penn State University VS. The College of New Jersey

PROS
-Its a well known college
-Since I was accepted to Penn Sate I can transfer to any of the campuses and they have plenty in case i get bored
-Very far so I know my mother wont be making surprise visits
-The on campus housing its very good as in space
-Its close to my aunts house so i can move there and pay in-state tuition
- I will be able to play the sport I love, VOLLEYBALL
CONS
-Its very far so when i want to get picked up for the weekend that wouldn't be possible and money would have to go towards transportation
-The Harrisburg Campus where i applied is very secluded (closest thing i knew was CVS, and there were llamas)
-The campus isn't all that great looking
-On-Campus housing is mostly apartment style which means you have to do more for yourself(such as buy your own dishes, take out your own trash, and other chores)
-Since I am kind of late with notifying my attendance at the school I will be wait listed for on-campus housing and I DON'T want to live off campus especially cause i don't drive!

PROS
-In-state tuition!
-The campus is GORGEOUS!!
-I heard it had a good journalism program which I am studying
-The rooms were pretty good
-There is a pretty good shopping are around there
CONS
-I would only get to play intramural volleyball which isn't the same at all
-It isn't as well known as penn state
-I HAVEN'T GOT THE ACCEPTANCE LETTER!! Like I am seriously waiting until April 1st which is worse if I am going to end up with Penn State and no on campus housing. And that weighs heavy on the cons list
-There is much of the african american scene at TCNJ

I dont even know if I am missing anything but this is really hard! I need a college that can benefit me in all ways. If any of you guys has any pointers or advice please let me know. I am soooo stuck

So i have never been an advocate for Valentines Day, and never really cared much! Being a child with divorced parents and another separation on its way, love isn't the biggest thing I believe in right now. Well I happened to be on my regular web surfing routine and i saw a post on Concreteloop.com about the Guinness Records longest marriage and it seemed almost unfathomable. A couple, Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher, whose marriage lasted 85 years! That deserves a standing ovation. I could barely deal with the guys in my school for more than 10 minutes but to last years gives me a whole new outlook on life. Not one that I am going to go and look for a guy right now but one that assures me that there might still be relationships out there that last. Relationships that are not tainted by money, home breakers, or other evils. For any couple reading this please go to the link and read up on the advice that the Fisher's gave and for all the single ladies or fellas out there please be inspired that you will some day find someone that is meant for you!

After years of blogging and from time to time posting these looks the bar gets higher every time I see a good look. Rihanna new single "Rude Boy" is very addicting. Not only is the song have a hot beat that my hips naturally move to. The video is even better! The cultural aspect is something that you never really see in Rihanna's video. I didn't think she can dance so well. Not really choreographed but she can definitely move! Love seeing the smile on her face from time to time. She has been really dark lately and this burst of color is what her fans really need.

So lately some kids in my town have taken to "exposing" others. Creating an anonymous Facebook profile just for putting other peoples business out. I thought it might actually be good to air out our town a little bit. After seeing a few posts I realized how immature it is. First of all, this person has a limited range of people to talk about. Second she is an underclassmen which means I don't care because I am a senior. Lastly some of this "exposure" was already old news.

Can people come off anymore childish. I just thought it was all funny and interesting it was that this person had enough time in his/her life to write about other people. Talk about a future gossip magazine in the making!!

Well, as the title says, here is what i have been up to lately.

Youtubin' It
I have been looking up videos to learn how to do things. There is a lot of talent out there and you can pretty much find anything on Youtube. For instance, I learned how to corn row my hair and how to put on makeup right! I don't know why I prefer "How To" videos but there are very informative and if you find the right one you can subscribe to that persons videos and check out there other tips.

It's a website where you can post anonymous questions to anyone and if you're bold enough you're name wont be hidden! Its really fun and there are a lot of wacky questions that you can reveal answers to. Then again there is always a fear that people that may dislike you will post questions and since the question box isn't limited to questions, you can have people leaving disturbing comments. So if anything you better have thick skin and be bold when answering a question of comment.

Yes I am a senior and so far out of 6 college admissions I have been accepted to two. Which I am really excited about. Pennsylvania State University(Harrisburg), and Drexel University wants me! I don't know which one to decide on and I am definitely going to wait it out for more. I don't want to make any rash decisions when it comes to my next 4 years of life!

Though today was good, life has been stressful. Worrying about college, prom, and family bullshit! Some times I wish my pursuit of happiness goal was on a roll!

Other than the depressing part of my life I did have some things make me happy. Such as I learned how to cornrow my hair!! WOOOHOOO, and that is how I get my hair in this short curly bob everyday. I started wearing makeup again and i finally learned how to do it RIGHT! I used to use the wrong shade of foundation and no concealer which would make me look like a ghost. Friendships have been fixed and I am loving all the people i surround myself with. I guess you can say i am happy with the little things in life that are going good for me.

A new year…a new set of resolutions. Should i work off my past resolutions this year?

“I want to lose weight” - worked in the first half of the new year but lost the desire.
“I want to save money” - now if i had money flowing in at the time then this might have worked out.
“I want a boyfriend” - not viable in this town i live in for the boys around are kind of WHACK
“I want to be nice” - I was still considered “rude
“I want better grade” - things weren’t going my way at the time
“I want to be popular” - I was young and didn't understand what i really wanted in life

Now that i think about it many of my past resolutions have been achieved slowly but surely. I have became less self conscious and in fact, IN LOVE with my body, which means i don’t need to lose weight to be pretty. I now have a job and even though i am spending money all the time, I always have a good amount left in the bank. I don’t need a boyfriend because i have plenty of guy friends to fill that void ;). I seriously have become a genuinely nice person now because I hated that so many people hated me cause how mean i used to be. I am smart as ever because I actually want to get into college nowadays so i kicked it into high gear and now getting honor rolls all the time.

So what should i really want for this new year. I don't want a whole new me like everyone asks for. “The New Me” resolution is so overrated and half the time people are still stuck on their old ways.

HMMMMMMMM…..so what i really want this new year…

I want to be happy. I want everyone around me to be happy. I want to be able to surround myself with other happy people old or new. I don't want to be sad nor upset over things in the past. I am willing to live in the moment to work for a happier me, whether that means dropping the negative people in my life or just going out and finding new people. I want to be so happy that I am open minded to new things and ideas. I always thought I was but I do feel myself stuck on what I want to do and what I know.

I wish to everyone that they are just happy in 2010! Live it up every single day of life. Smile at a person you don't know down the street. Say “Hi” to an old friend that you don't really talk to anymore. Seriously laugh when your sad and smile when your mad. I think all the world needs is happiness and though some say HAPPINESS CANT BE FOUND….I think we all should be on THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!!! That's better than nothing! =D

So been gone awhile and in my last post i spoke of ending this blog and starting a new one on tumblr (www.socialnoise.tumblr.com). Well I have been thinking about it and I want to do something with this blog.

Lately I have been in need of money and just a few pocket dollars but when I get into college i need to be ready to fend for myself. So i decided I need to start selling some of my old gently used items online to make money for myself. I guess its the entrepeanuer in me who decided to start this.

So like you guys know from my last post I lost my LG Xenon that I got for my birthday! And I need a phone in my life right now. Though I am able to concentrate more in class and with other things I am bored during my free time now. My mother told me she wont buy me a new phone and I have to buy one myself and she will buy me a new Sim card.

SO THAT'S THE PLAN!

I must get a job and make money to buy a new phone. But then I got to thinking...

If I am going to buy myself my own phone then I should be able to choose which one I want.

So I went phone searching and looked at everything about every phone and nothing really stood out. What I really need in a phone is TEXTing, CALLing, and a good camera. Also space but it doesn't really matter. Then I came down to two for various reasons....

The Blackberry Bold

I have been doing research on this phone and only got good feedback! CNET is what I use when I need the facts on a phone but then it has those comments from people who have actually got the phone and I am pleased to say that this phone might be my next phone. Only thing I am afraid about is the data plan and asking my mom for one. I highly doubt my mom would want to pay an extra 15 bucks for anything even if I may need it. Other than that the Blackberry has been getting a lot of props from people. Not just the business world. I cant help noticing the kids in my school rocking a new cover or case on there blackberry. Should I join the in crowd? Not just to conform but I seek the awesomeness of the Blackberry!

The LG Xenon (again)

Then there is the LG Xenon which I have already used. It hasn't got so many bad reviews and nothing is really wrong with it. I have use this phone before and what would be the problem with having it again...? UMMMM MAYBE THAT I WANT SOMETHING NEW! Well of course I do but it would be easier to get this phone because I already have the charger for it and that would be lesser money for me. But is that really important. But I like it better than the Blackberry Bold because of its touch screen and slide out keyboard. Also the different colors to choose from is cool.

Well I am leaving it up to you guys. Should I stick with the LG Xenon or get the Blackberry Bold. Should I just stick with the old or be Bold. Can I say that Jay-Z is talking about me in his song Venus vs Mars or should I be boring with the Xenon!

Though i wont say the name of the town i live in I do live in New Jersey. Its a cool state I guess though I happen to have mixed feelings about this town. I am not saying its totally bad but i hate that there is almost know one that can be trusted. I only say this because of the many expensive electronics I have lost while living in this town.

Recently I lost my cell phone. It was on the late bus after volleyball practice and I was tired. I could have sworn that i put the phone in my bag but I guess it dropped. You would think that the next person to enter or exit that bus would see it and give it back but NO. That just doesn't happen. Everyone is such a wannabe business person during this recession and will steal someone elses things just to sell it and make money off of that. I know my name and pictures were in that phone and my mom and house numbers were in it so if anyone found it they could easily return it. I knew that my phone was forever gone when after calling it millions of times it just started to go straight to voicemail. Whoever probably just took out the sim card and just sold it.

I am not really mad towards who stole it. I am mad at myself for even losing it. I didnt even have it for a whole month!!!! I got it on September 17th(my birthday) and I lost it Oct 9th. WHAT KIND OF SHIIT IS THAT!!!!???!!! I just feel so careless that I cant even keep a nice phone for myself. I have tried everything to find it and now its just a lost cause. Now I need to make up the money and buy another phone myself.

In the past I have lost my camera, my moms camera, my zune, my other phone and thats about it. Even then thats a lot of money lost! I hope that when I get older(and out of this town) I hope i am more responsible for my things. I hate losing things that were important to me and being that careless as an adult would be even worse.

Now all I can do is save the money to get a new phone. Or maybe find a JOB first!!!

I haven't posted in very long and I am sorry. School and life has been hectic. I literally come home from a long day and go straight to Facebook and then go to sleep. But now that I have time I am going to put up some things that I really need in my closet or in MY LIFE in general.

This book might tell me everything I need to be who I want to be. I want to style but I also would love to work at my favorite magazine just doing whatever. That is why I need this book to learn the ins and outs!
So winter is coming and I am in need of some sweaters. Though I do want some college sweater I also want some cute cropped or raw edge sweaters. Anything to keep me cozy while I am waiting outside for my bus!

Since this summer i lived in shorts(even made a pair of cuffed shorts) I want more for the winter. The whole tights under the shorts look is so chill. Also a big tee is the best. Not just for school but also for falling asleep in.

Some unique jackets are cool to rock. Not just for coming into school but also for wearing around school. And my school happens to be the COLDEST school so wearing a jacket around is very normal.

Now that I am older I dont need my mom to escort me to parties or even to have an invitation to everything. But I want most is nice evening dresses. Elegant but short enough to dance in. I love to dance so the dress must be comfortable and able to handle sweat.

Faux fur is really catching my eye. Even though the only faux fur I ever had was my moms jacket and all I did with that is just touch it. But now I think I am ready to actually dress it up and rock it outside the house.

Just one big bag! I need to carry books and even clothing. I love big bags and it has to go with every outfit just in case I dont want to keep switching from bag to bag.

Though it doesnt have to be as colorful as these I do want some hats. Its a fact that the most heat gets released from your head so I need a hat to keep me warm. I want big slouchy ones especially to keep my braids in.
Accesories for my dresser are belts especially braided and a bra. I think during the summer I can put this bra under a slouchy tank and call it a day. Though its very skin bearing I think I can rock it.
I need more shoes and these would be great adds to my closet. More flats and things that look nice!

YES ALL MY READERS I AM A SENIOR and though i am kind of late on this and school has started already i just want to post now that i love it. Last friday all the senior went on the Senior Picnic which i have to say was the best time i have had as a student of West Orange High School! I am not going to speak about myself only because I know for a fact that the rest of my school was being stupid. I dont even know how to explain it but there is one picture and though it doesnt represent how much I danced it definitely me at this picnic!

There is me in the center and I am just laughing my ass off, and everyone around me is also! That is how my life is almost everyday as a senior. Just very easy and light and NO DRAMA! Senior life is so good but its even better that it will end!

So everybody today is not any normal day! Not only is today my BIRTHDAY but its also my GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!!! This means that I am the same age as my birth date. So i am 17 on the 17th!!! Isnt that really cool??!!?? Well I had a really cool day...

So lately all I have been doing is playing volleyball. I do love the sport but its just boring sometimes. I cant wait until we get to the more exciting games. I know my team is really good this year and I know we can go really far. Tomorrow and Saturday we are having a break from all the practices this week.

Tomorrow my family and I are going to movies and dinner for the final night of my brother being home because he is leaving for Rutgers University on Saturday. I am sad but it hasn't really hit me yet. I hope tomorrow is really fun though.

I am not famous and I always like to hear what celebrities say or do about being famous. Whether there in rehab or constantly featured in a magazines. When Drake told MTV what he thought about being famous I thought wow i never heard this before, and is it true? Everybody sees it though. Most celebrities are in some way insane and doing something stupid like cutting their full head of hair bald, or taking every type of drug to "stay sane"! Then there are those celebrities who you never see in pictures (but you do want to see) that are doing exactly what they became famous for and are happy about it.

I know in my future I do want to be famous but being the stubborn-type like me; i wonder if it will work out. I don't want to be one of the many on the statistic board killing myself to stay famous, and I surely don't want my name spoken bad about. I guess I am going to have to wait and see and keep this quote in mind.

And it very much is! I adore Fefe Dobsons music. I love how she is not what the mainstream sees her and does what she wants. This song if fun to me just a great song to listen to or bob my head to.

So everyone has been making a big deal about this performance and I had to really see what up! To say the truth I really think there is nothing wrong with what she did! She held on to the pole to hold herself up??? Why would anyone want her to fall! I give Miley 4 stars for this performance because I think she could have done a lot more dancing because I know she can move. One thing I love after being Nigerian is meeting and knowing about other Nigerians. Especially celebrity Nigerians. Not the ones in Nigeria who are cool but the ones that are celebrities in America. For instance just right now I found out that Wale was Nigerian. I loved him as an artist before but this made him a whole lot better!

Every Nigerian who is very into there culture and attends the parties, conventions, meetings, and other are cool to me. You can always find me at a Nigerian party dancing with my mother or my friends(the ones who are not shy to dance) and though I am not the best Nigerian dancer I do know how to work it! Especially to those really good Nigerian songs like My Sweetie(i cant find the original artist!!! =/....) that everyone young and old gets up and dances to! When I heard that Wale covered it I was hoping it was not something like what Jay-Z did to the MIA hook and I wasn't let down. I totally respect Wale for this and keeping it real and not fronting about the fact that he is Nigerian!!!!

As a high school student the moment everyone waits for is the last day of there four years in high school! The diploma being enclosed into your hands is the best feeling but also the worst. If your someone like me who has lived in the same town since you were in kindergarten and knows everything about everything in your hometown you would know how hard it is to go.

For me graduations is going to be hard to get through. I'm picturing it now...watching all my fellow classmates (me also of course) receive our diploma and remembering how they looked when we were all in elementary school and looking back on our interactions with each other. Whether good or bad I know I am going to miss all my fellow classmates. People that I was once best friends with and others who I hated and it wouldn't even matter because we all have reached the same goal.

Soon enough after that night of graduation and when the summer is said and done we will all part our separate ways or maybe join up in college. Living in this town for so long and knowing the ins and outs, ups and downs, and dos and dont's; I will have to let it all go to figure out a whole new area. I dont know absolutely where I my destination is but the scariest part is the path I am going to taking.

Thinking of all this can bring tears to ones eyes but first I need to get through my senior year. The year I can finally say "Senior Rights" or "Senoritis" and relish in the oppurtunities that this school year will bring.

Senior Breakfast, Senior Picnic, Senior Bowling, Senior Pictures '10, Senior Spirit Week, the final assemblies, Senior Prom, Graduation, Project Graduation, and the final parties of the summer!

I am so excited for all this that I am forgetting that soon enough I will be a freshman again in a whole new world so all I can and will do is enjoy the ride!!!!

east and west

Though I have been living in New Jersey all my American life, and I am an east coaster, I do find myself wanting to be on the west. The farthest I have gone to the west was Texas and it wasn't exactly the West that I was trying to see. Nowadays there seems to be a lot of buzz of east verses the west. I noticed that especially when watching the first episode of Americas Best Dance Crew and it showed that all the crews to have won so far have been on the west coast. I am not crazy about the show but it seems true. Also the new dance move called the Jerk which originated on the west coast and is now gaining heat around these parts and though I can do it very well I cant help but thinking that it is a west coast thing. I have also heard numerous peoples opinions about how the east coast is not original!

To me the east coast is filled with more people who are trying to do there own thing and trying to make themselves succeed over other not caring about others. Everyone minds there own business mostly and goes on there own way and are speedy doing it all. Take New York for example. Everyone knows where there headed and if you get in the way you are likely to get bumped into numerous amount of times. That is obviously my opinion of the east coast but if you think otherwise please let me know.

What do i do if i have the funniest story to tell but I cant put it out there because I could get in trouble? I guess I have to wait until this whole thing blows over!

Well today my friend is coming over and I don't know what we are going to do. Its hot and nasty outside as if it going to rain. I hate when that happens. For instance it is like REALLY HOT and it rains! The worst feeling ever! Its like being sweaty and in a hot area! So all my friend and I are going to do is stay at home and watch TV I guess. I don't want to go anywhere anyway because my body hurts and I don't feel like moving!

Well since I was blog surfing today I ended up on the Urban Outfitters Blog! After listening to "Lust for Life" by Girls (which is a cool song but the video wasn't the same) and scrolling through the pages these were the things that caught my eye!

SO WEIRD and COOL i guess!!! But don't ask me why I took a little extra time to think about why each one of these were matched with there certain matches. Didn't come up with anything but I like to think about things to much for no reason!

LIGHT-WRITER!!! Its like spray paint that gives a glow which is SOOO cool!!! Also to refill the can all your have to do is shake the can! I want one really badly and I dont even know how to spray paint anything nice.

I just really liked this new sunglass line just because the color of the lens against the white frame. I never really thought of getting white framed glasses because I am bad with anything white but I really want these one!

So just the other night I went out with my friend Julienne and had a fun and okay time. Guess what!? I LOST MY CAMERA. My beautiful green camera that my mom got as a gift from MaryKay is gone and I am just blah about it. I lost my mothers old $400 camera 3 years ago and now the one she actually gave me is lost.

The reason why I am not upset is because my mom didnt buy it but she would still be upset once she finds out it is lost. What I am really upset is about is the fact that I wont be taking fun cool pictures for my blog. I could use my sisters but it wont be the same! I wish my camera can just float back to me but I dont think it will, its lost forever!

Something very exciting came in my mail today and I shall tell you this story from the beginning!

Well last year, mid-September, I was on the teen vogue website doing my usual check on Teen Vogues Girl of the Week. That is where I got most of the blogs that I follow because most of the girls featured are bloggers. So i stumbled upon a girl, Kristin Ferrandino, around my age, who is the editor of a magazine called prim.Magazine. I thought the whole idea of a girl who was 14, at the time, was running a magazine! So i decided to check out the website and I was an instant fan. So I emailed her soon after and asked her questions about running a magazine and how I love the idea of it. She sent an email back answering my questions and said that she will send me a free issue!!!

So I went to my mailbox daily waiting on that issue to come in but it didn't. Months went on and I never got it and I never really forgot about it but I thought it is a hard business to run a magazine so I decided not to blame her.

Today the October 2008 issue and this months issue of prim.Magazine came into me! I was yelling and jumping and SOOO very excited. I read the October issue first because I like to keep things in order and I am going to read the current issue tomorrow FRESH!

I just want to give a very special thank you to Kristin Ferrandino for not forgetting about me and sending me 2 issues instead of one. THANK YOU!!!!

The Sounds - No One Sleeps When I'm Awake

So lately I have been listening to this really great group. They go by the name The Sounds! Their upbeat danceable music and thought inducing lyrics makes me wants to tap my foot or just dance without a care. It all started with me listening to the song No One Sleeps When I'm Awake way to many times for record. Then watching the video got me addicted. So I looked more into this Swedish Indie band. With crazy concert images, cant-tear-my-eyes-away videos, Maja Ivarsson doing vocals, Felix Rodriguez on the guitar, Johan Bengtsson jamming with the bass, Jesper Anderberg on both the synthesizers and piano, and Fredrik Nilsson beating the drums this band is definitely a group to listen up for.

Right now i find myself taking back what i said in a much earlier post. During that time my summer was so fun and I didn't think it would change but now...I am bored. My sisters are at my dads house for the month of July, my brother is out with the car, my mother is always working, and my stepfather is just there. So who am I left with? My baby sister Egoigwe(nigerian). Yeah she is cute, whimsical, charismatic but when she is the only one your spending your day with then you know you really hit the dark pit of boredom. My days are filled with sleep, computer, Ego(baby sisters nickame), and myself. I have no money to spend so I can't go anywhere and I am just plain lazy. I dont even have the energy to do my hair. Well I hope things pick up for me and maybe this Thursday it will!

Well it has been a weekend!! Just a weekend! I want to explain the story but its way to long. Just know my families car broke down while coming back from a graduation party in south Jersey. We were stuck on the side of the road, then stuck at the gas station, and then stayed at Travelodge motel. I was so tired the whole time and I am happy to be back home!

This summer my family wasn't going to go on a vacation like we usually do but I take this weekend as a forced vacation. We had fun and were together and I am happy we did because there was going to be no other time to have a vacation this summer. That is why I love my forced involuntary vacation

So today I spent the day with my wonderful best friend Julienne. We spent our time with my family at Verona Park. Well it was basically Julienne and I, my sisters with my cousin, and my mom and aunt (not running) walking laps around Verona Park. I had fun even though getting there and coming back was just trouble. My baby sister is just a lot to handle and included boogers everywhere, a kick to the face, and an embarrassing walk out of the park with my baby sister in a hissy-fit. There just had to be so many people in the park today!!! But I am happy because I love days where I can just walk through a park and be happy!

Okay so I know my birthday is in far from here, more like in September and to be exact September 17th. So why am I thinking about my birthday gift so much? I don't know but I cant choose from between a itouch or iphone! Most of my friends have the itouch and they are always on it and the apps are great to use to pass up time. Then the iphone is apart of my phone company Cingular and I can get it. Both are very much the same and when it comes to looks and apps. To me the iphone is the better version of the itouch just because you can make calls. With the itouch you can text, use the internet, play games, and other simpler things which the iphone can do also.

People are telling me i shouldnt get the iphone just because it is a lot of money but ITS MY BIRTHDAY(not presently speaking) and I can get anything I want no matter the cost.
If i do get the itouch i will feel as if I am missing out on all thing things that the iphone can offer. The biggest main reason why I probaby wont be getting the iphone because I was told that I would have to pay the monthly "data" which is internet and email in simpler terms. This would be $30 a month and a month after it wont be my birthday so I cant use the same "ITS MY BIRTHDAY" excuse. Also I wouldnt be able to get the itouch just because I lost my zune which cost $230 and my mom is upset over that.

For my brother 17th birthday he got a laptop(which is now broken) and I dont think I would want that. Just because it stays home and I know my little sister would be trying to get on it. Also the itouch is basically the portable version of a laptop which is so much better.

Can you guys please help me decide and give me more reasons to get either the itouch or the iphone?

What is wrong with me? Any other summer i would be so excited to start volleyball again! I would mentally prepare myself by watching plenty of volleyball games on both the internet and television. Then physically preparing myself by going to the gym or going for a run before the actual volleyball practices start! I did do some running and i hav watched a couple of videos but the luster for it all has disapeared. Maybe its because the struggles i have been through with this team is gloomily overshadowing me. From freshman year to now, whether me to be the cause or others it has definately been a rollercoaster throughout highschool. Now that i am going to be a senior and i have changed a lot maybe i am thinking that there still might be trouble to brew. With my maturity level hitting new heights, i just dont want anymore of the same problems this coming school year. Now i am going to my first practice this summer (which i have been avoiding) tomorrow and i am far less than excited and dreading the moment i walk! This could just be me being paranoid? Well im going to get through it and do my best and hopefully dust off that luster i once had.

Though I did tell myself that I was going to be more productive; I just couldn't do it. I just have been so lazy lately and tired. I go to sleep at 3am and wake up at 11am or 12pm. I don't think that is enough. I think my sleep clock isn't correct because when I wake up I just feel tired. When my sisters wake up they are so full of energy.

Well yesterday I went out to my backyard with my baby sister and just read a book while she ran around. I was on my second book of the summer which is also by Sarah Dessen.

Maybe I need to spend a little time off the computer and try to clean my room or something else that I wouldnt normally want to do.

So my summer so far has been good. My past summers have only been me sitting at home and waiting for volleyball to start up. But I am not having that this summer. I am making plans and spending a little time at home as possible. Though I am exhausted a lot, I am still having fun. Today I went to the movies with my friend Nkiruka and Onyi and we watched the movie Hangover! Let me tell you!!!! Its the funniest comedy I have ever seen... HANDS DOWN!!! I loved it and I am telling everybody to go and see it!

Last night there was a party for Amiri people. I went because my mother was one of the Amiri women who were to dance. Also my stepfather was going to be a dancer in the masquerade. I had fun and invited my friend Onyi to go with me. I love Nigerian parties because its so fun to just to see family again.
